It is a belief I believe that was in the authors and signers of the United States Constitution. It is something many have believed at the formation of this country and most practiced until relatively recent times. It puts governmental power into the hands of the people and takes it away from the wealthy, the powerful, oligarchs and monarchs. As long as the people believe they are the government and have the power of government then our democracy is strong and will function properly as well as move us all upwards and forwards.
