David Schultz, professor of political science and US constitutional law at Hamiline University, is back with us to offer his analysis on the Xi/Biden Summit.
The meeting was lauded as historic and vital by all observers. Yet, with everything going on in the world - wars in Europe and the Middle East come to mind - the Bloomberg headline after the meeting says: Biden, Xi to Announce China’s Crackdown on Fentanyl Trade.

Not to diminish the effects of the opiod crisis in the US but that's all they could agree on? They agree "to announce" a crackdown.
David tells NOW and NEXT, "It looks like what they did was find the one topic they could find some agreement on. And that's what they talked about so tthey could say we had a successful summit. Because, right now, the gap between the two of them on everything else is so big, and they didn't wanna highlight that."
