Healthcare System Immigration and Visa Processing Public Transportation Traffic and Road Construction Winter Weather and Driving Housing Market Government Services Job Search and Career Advancement Parenting Challenges Relationships and Marriages Caring for Elderly Parents or aging parents What is the meaning of 'patience'? * The capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble * Suffering without getting angry or upset. * According to the Bible, patience is often described as the ability to endure suffering, trials, or waiting with faith and trust in God's timing. * It is seen as a fruit of the Spirit, reflecting a calm, steadfast reliance on God's will. Ephesians 4:2 (NLT): Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. Psalm 37:7 (NLT): Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don't worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes. The Fruits of Patience 1. Contentment through Patience 2. Self-Sufficiency in Christ 3. Joy in Suffering 4. Temporary Grief, Eternal Joy 1. Contentment through Patience Philippians 4:11-12 (NLT) 11. Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. 12 I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. Luke 12:15 (NLT) Then he said, Beware! Guard against every kind of greed. Life is not measured by how much you own. 2. Self-Sufficiency in Christ 1 Timothy 6:6 (NKJV) Now godliness with contentment is great gain. 3. Joy in Suffering James 1:2-3 (NKJV) 2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience Romans 5: 3-4 (NLT) 3 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. 4 And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. 4. Temporary Grief, Eternal Joy 2 Corinthians 4:17 (NLT) For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!
