"Santosh" had its world premiere at the 2024 Cannes International Film Festival in the Un Certain Regard section, where it received positive reviews for its story, direction, and lead performance from Shahana Goswami as a 28-year-old widow who takes her late husband's job as a police officer and has to investigate the case of a young girl's murder. The film has been selected as the UK's entry for Best International Feature Film at the 97th Academy Awards. Director/Writer Sandhya Suri was kind enough to spend some time talking with us about her work on the film, which you can listen to below.
