This episode is the last guest episode for the 2023 year. What a year it has been! I’m thankful to finish this year off with my final guest, Johana Miller. Johana has a unique story of moving to the states from Panama as a young girl and learning how to navigate life as an immigrant without any knowledge of the English language. Her grit and determination to learn and grow quickly helped her become the woman she is today. Johana’s background helped her launch the start of several businesses and a side business in the short term rental market. Johana has such a vivacious personality that you’ll fall in love with as you listen. Enjoy the last guest episode of the year, and stay tuned next week for the final episode of 2023.

Questions we discussed in this episode:

-What do you remember as a child growing up in a foreign country learning a new language and being different from other children?

-How has the experience of growing up as a first generation immigrant played into your role as a parent now raising your children and for yourself personally as an adult?

-What have been the greatest obstacles in owning real estate and working in the short term rental world?

-Around the same time of owning and operating real estate, you created your own private online language coaching program Mellifluent LLC. Spanish is part of your heritage and culture, why was it important to start this coaching program?

-Why choose an online program as opposed to traditional language learning in a school setting?

- You also started a language program at a local charter school in Atlanta. How did you know they needed assistance, and how did you even get your foot in the door with the school?

-As an entrepreneur who has created several businesses, did you ever feel blocked or limited by your age to move forward with these businesses? If not, did any limitations stand in your way? If so, how did you work through any negative beliefs?

-If you could encourage 1 woman who feels blocked or limited to pursue a dream or goal based on her age or life circumstance, what would you tell her?

If you’ve asked the questions:

“Can I learn a new language?”

“Is it too late to learn a new language?”

“Can I start a business?”

“Can I own a home in the short term rental market?”

“It is too late?”

THIS is the episode for you!
