Hey there, surfers and beachgoers! This is your New York surf forecast for today, Sunday, September 29, 2024. Let's catch a wave on what’s happening out there!
Starting off with Kings (Brooklyn), we're seeing a high rip current risk in effect until 6 PM this evening. Surf height around 3 feet, surf temperature in the upper 60s, and expect a chance of rain with cloudy skies. Grab your boards and watch out for those rip currents, and remember your flotation device if you’re hitting the waves!
Moving on to Southern Queens, a similar scene with a high rip current risk continuing until this evening. Surf height around 3 feet, temperatures in the upper 60s, and those cloudy skies. Always swim near a lifeguard and be aware of the potential for rip currents.
Down in Southern Nassau, including Atlantic Beach and Jones Beach, it’s a high rip current risk as well until 6 PM. Surf at 3 feet, upper 60s for both temperature and surf temperature, and cloudy with a chance of rain. Tuesday through Thursday, expect a mix of sun and clouds with some slight chances of showers.
In Southwestern Suffolk, the story continues with a high rip current risk until 6 PM. Surf height around 3 feet, upper 60s for temperatures, and don't forget the east winds at around 20 mph. Keep an eye out for that cloudy sky and potential rain!
Finally, Southeastern Suffolk, with a high rip current risk until 6 PM this evening. Surf height around 4 feet, temperatures in the mid-60s, and mostly cloudy with a chance of rain. So if you’re riding the waves at Smith Point or Cupsogue Beach, be extra cautious out there!
Remember, friends, safety first - always swim near a lifeguard and keep an eye out for those rip currents. And if you’re caught in one, remember to relax and float, don’t fight the current.
