In this episode, I share some end of the year tasks for teachers that will set you up for a smoother back to school in the fall. Teaching is stressful and there are many things to manage before you leave for summer break. I talk about how to close out the year, review your library, make copies of activities you'll use in the first few weeks, and remind you to take a moment to reflect on the successes from the year!

It's important to be intentional about recognizing the positive things that happened and not let the negative overshadow the positive. The end of the year is also a good time to think about ways we can improve for next year. A few moments now will save us time and energy later on!

In this episode about ending the school year, I share:

  • Declutter what you can now so you are not having to clean your room before setting up the next school year.
  • Reflect on areas that need improvement or modification. Are there systems in your classroom you want to change?
  • Evaluate your classroom library. Remove old, outdated books that students don't use.
  • Make copies of the materials you'll need for the first day/week of school
  • Reflect and acknowledge the good things that happened this year.
