With only a few days remaining in August, the Jeremy Swayman contract saga drags on. There was a report earlier this week that's he asking for $10M annually on his deal, and while that's yet to be corroborated, recent comments made by the goaltender suggest he is indeed taking a strong stand in negotiations.

Locked on Boston Bruins host Ian McLaren breaks down Swayman's understanding that the cap is going up, his comparables, and how he can't ruin the goalie market for other guys that are going to be in his shoes down the line.

Looking at his numbers, Swayman is an elite goalie. But, he doesn't have the accolades of some of his peers. The balance is paying for what's expected vs. what's been achieved. At Swayman's age, though, surely the hardware is coming.
