How should Christians seek to be faithful and generous with our money? What does money tell us about the proper order of our affections as followers of Jesus? We pause our series in 1 Peter to look at 1 Timothy for the next two weeks.
1 Timothy 6:2-10
Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. Philippians 3:8a
“Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return.” Job 1:21a
“The deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and it proves unfruitful.” Matthew 13:22
Three Words of Application:
- Consider your heart.
- Consider the gospel.
- Consider eternity.
“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:21
For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich. 2 Corinthians 9:8
