SYFY Wire Fangrrls writers Alyssa Fikse (@lyssiefikse) and Jessica Toomer (@jessica_toomer) are thrilled to see Uhtred and Alfred get real about their relationship and all that they’ve done together to build Wessex. There are hurt feelings that run deep, but Alfred is able to make amends before he dies. And die he does, to the dulcet tones of Aelswith haranguing him for his choices regarding Uhtred. While everyone deals with the king’s passing, Thyra is harassed for being a Dane living among the Saxons. It’s enough to break your heart, and it’s a horrible side effect of Aethelwold’s scheming. Edward’s ascension is tenuous, so will he be able to become king at all, or will it be snatched away?
