How important is forgiveness? Rabbi Steve Berkson takes us to Matthew chapter six where he shows us the “model prayer” given by Yeshua when His disciples asked how they should pray.

In the prayer, which is just an outline for how to pray, Yeshua hits the issue of forgiveness, from the vertical, the Father, and also on the horizontal, between ourselves. Are you willing to do for your brother or sister what you expect the Father to do for you? As He does, so should you. If you don’t, He won’t.

• What is the “negative emotional state”?

Then Rabbi Berkson takes us to Matthew 18:21-22 to look at a parable Yeshua told to give an example of what it looks like to be forgiven and to forgive. First, Peter poses the question about how many times should someone forgive another. Yeshua’s response was a multiplication equation.

• What was the equation? What was the answer? Was the answer meant to actually be how many times we should forgive our brother/sister?

• Before the master in the parable forgave the debt of his servant, what happened first?

• What is it that Rabbi Berkson says we should never forget? How does it affect the way we treat others? (Deuteronomy 24:18)

• How can haSatan use your unforgiving attitude?

• What are the two things forgiveness does to thwart the adversary interfering in your life?

Do you really understand what it means to “grieve the set-apart (holy) spirit of Elohim? (Ephesians 4:30) Rabbi Berkson makes the understanding so simple. Don’t miss it.

What about being “sealed by the set-apart spirit of Elohim”? Are you clear about that?
