#82 Shooting for the Stars with Emily Sanchez Part 2 | Healing with WORTH
Manage episode 321154190 series 2712139
We are back with Emily Sanchez for Part 2 on Shooting for the Stars! This week we are discussing the topic of divorce, as that has been requested by a lot of our listeners. If you would like to read more about Emily, you can do that here in Part 1's description.
In this episode, we start off by talking about how to get comfortable with being single after divorce. Emily helps us to consider the idea in our head that we only have one chance on this earth to marry the "right" person. She references Genesis that alludes to us being whole as we are. At times, we may forget that we still can be happy even when we are not married to someone. We may still feel the uncomfortable pressures of the cultural feeling, family first, but Emily reminds us that this is truly where the Saviors ministry took place. When you feel like the outcast, He is there.
Emily also encourages us to ask ourselves the question, "Who do I want to become, and how do I want to live?" When starting to date again or looking for a job after divorcing, we have the choice whether to make it a good experience or to focus on the bad. She says, "This is given to you, choose it. There can be power in accepting."
Some may wonder is divorce the right choice? Will my spouse choose recovery later? Emily has implemented the OEC: Options, evaluations, and consequences to help us really determine this. Listen in if you'd like to learn more.
