Check out this exclusive interview with our host Dean Wilson and established singer songwriter Nitanee Paris! Nitanee Paris hails from Pennsylvania, where she was influenced by the rich musical tapestry of her urban neighborhood, including the songs of a historic African American church next door and a Puerto Rican church across the street. These early experiences fueled her passion for diversity and tolerance, which she later expressed through songwriting. Her musical journey was shaped by punk, political messages, Woody Guthrie, Rage Against the Machine, and her father's love for classic country music. Moving to Los Angeles, she pursued songwriting after earning a degree in socio-cultural Anthropology with honors. She also studied songwriting at UCLA Extension under Marty Panzer. Nitanee's music has been licensed for various TV networks and platforms, including VIACOM, PARAMOUNT, CBS Sports, NETFLIX, MTV, VH1, BRAVO, HULU, and more. Her work has appeared in feature films, commercials, and corporate campaigns. As a collaborator, she's worked with renowned songwriters and artists like Steve Dorff, Gary Nicholson, Macy Gray, and many others. She's received several awards and nominations, including the 2021 Grand Prize in the Electronic Category of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. Nitanee actively contributes to the music community by hosting workshops, charity events, and showcases, including "Nitanee's Nashville Nights" and the ArtistMax showcase. She's also involved in various music organizations and serves on boards and committees. Tune in as she speaks on her discovery of inner creativity and how that resulted in a fruitful vision to uplift the next generation of artists and marginalized communities as well as how she actively advocates for young artists who lacked support, seeking to establish a feeling of comradery and inspiring a spirit of kindness.
