A trailblazer with over three decades of unwavering commitment to transforming lives, one strand at a time, Jai has achieved a groundbreaking milestone by securing the first-ever major deal with Walmart as an African American woman entrepreneur from the Washington, DC area. This historic achievement not only underscores Jai’s entrepreneurial prowess but also highlights her unwavering commitment to diversity and inclusion in the beauty industry.

From humble beginnings at Dean's Hair Salon in Washington, D.C, Jai first honed her craft as a shampoo girl under her mother's guidance. She has since had a multifaceted career spanning civil engineering, chemistry, and perpetual learning & her journey epitomizes resilience and determination. Jai's entrepreneurial odyssey began in 2008 when she identified a glaring gap in the market for skincare and haircare products tailored specifically for men of color with textured hair. As a seasoned cosmetologist, she witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by her clients due to the lack of suitable products. Determined to fill this void, Jai embarked on a journey of creation and innovation, laying the foundation for what would eventually become 5 Star Beauty Collection.
