bell hooks (1952-2021) gilt als eine der einflussreichsten Feminist*innen der letzten 50 Jahre. Sie war Professorin, Autorin, eine öffentliche Intellektuelle, eine revolutionäre Aktivistin und in vielerlei Hinsicht Vordenkerin, insbesondere des intersektionalen Feminismus. In dieser Folge spreche ich über bell hooks' filmtheoretisches Konzept des oppositionellen Blicks Schwarzer Zuschauerinnen, der eine widerständige Haltung zur white supremacist capitalist patriarchy beinhaltet. Mit einer Besprechung von zwei Beispielen für bell hooks Filmkritiken: “Paris Is Burning“ (1990) von Jennie Livingston und “She's Gotta Have It“ (1986) von Spike Lee.
