In this episode of FEO on the Air we are joined by Chelsey Lokstet, Event Coordinator for the Thunder Bay Busker Festival. The 2023 event is coming (July 29-30, 2023))and Chelsey takes time out of her busy schedule to tell us all about this years event, the challenges she and her team face, and changes to the event because of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Originally called the Bay & Algoma Buskers Festival, established in 2013 as a token festival for their neighbourhood, has risen again after the pandemic to become the Thunder Bay Buskers Festival. The Bay & Algoma Neighbourhood is a fitting backdrop for a street festival. Not only a collection of shops and restaurants the area is also home to a community of inspired entrepreneurs. Also joining the podcast is Marnie Lapierre from Northern Events and Tourism Consulting (NEAT) to speak about Thunder Bay as a destination for tourists and to highlight attractions, events and incredible dining locations. Planning on travelling to attend the Busker Festival? Now you know all of the cool stuff you can do in the area as well. For more information on the Thunder Bay Busker Festival visit their website https://www.buskersfestival.ca and to learn more about NEAT you can stop by their website https://www.neatc.ca. If you have a festival or event coming in the next few weeks or months and would like to come on FEO on the Air to promote it, please reach out to Dave MacNeil (FEO CEO) at 519-742-2226 or through email dave@festivalsandeventsontario.ca.
