Barry first found music when he borrowed his sister's record collection when he was about eight and was hooked. When Caroline started it was a new beginning, and he listened to all the stations, but Caroline was his favourite by far. Later he became a singer in a band, then started doing discos when he was 18. This week we’re discussing every album by The Sisters of Mercy. Led by mastermind Andrew Eldritch, this band is paramount in the creation of goth music as we know it. Although they came a few years after pioneers like Siouxsie and the Banshees or The Cure, The Sisters of Mercy’s style was so distinct and memorable that most of what we recognize as goth can be traced back to them. Even if goth isn’t your thing, there’s a lot to be had here.
