This is day 342 of our journey.
Paul's first letter to the Church at Thessalonica praises the people for their faithful walk as believers. They had consistently stood their ground in the face of persecution. Paul reminds them of the future return of Christ and encourages them to continue to grow in love and to strengthen their commitment to the Gospel. The people are challenged to live their lives in accordance with Jesus' teachings and to support and encourage one another in every good practice.
Join me in 1 Thessalonians 1-5 and cling to what is good!
Key verses:
1 Thessalonians 1:6
And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, when you received the message with joy that comes from the Holy Spirit, despite great affliction.
1 Thessalonians 2:19
For who is our hope or joy or crown to boast of before our Lord Jesus at his coming? Is it not of course you?
1 Thessalonians 3:12
And may the Lord cause you to increase and abound in love for one another and for all, just as we do for you,
1 Thessalonians 4:16
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a shout of command, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
1 Thessalonians 5:21-22
But examine all things; hold fast to what is good. 22 Stay away from every form of evil.
