DEVELOPMENT HELL returns with STEPHEN KING UNSEEN, a 4-part limited audio series unearthing lost and troubled adaptations from the Master of Horror.

In Part II of STEPHEN KING UNSEEN, we get lost in the woods of New England and uncover the yet-unmade cinematic adaptation of his book THE GIRL WHO LOVED TOM GORDON.

Published in 1999, this Stephen King horror novel is about a 9-year-old girl named Trisha who loses her mom and brother while hiking in the woods. She soon finds herself surviving alone in the wilderness, where she's aided by the mirage of her hero, baseball player Tom Gordon, and stalked by an ominous wasp-faced entity known as The God of the Lost.

A film version was first announced in 2005 and was in development until at least 2020, when WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN director Lynne Ramsay was announced to direct and co-write the project. Learn everything we know about this fascinating unmade Stephen King adaptation. Will it ever see the light of day? We share our thoughts.

Podcaster and Constant Reader Rachel Reeves (@thevinylgrrrl) joins us as a cohost for STEPHEN KING UNSEEN.

For every horror title to hit V.O.D, countless others end up D.O.A. Development Hell is the podcast dedicated to unearthing these cursed horror productions — to find out what went wrong — and decide if they still stand a shot at the green light. Make sure to check out past episodes, including Neill Blomkamp’s Alien V, the canceled Hellraiser reboot, and Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash!
