If you've been thinking about buying a home lately, I'm sure you've been getting a lot of advice from friends and family. I'm sure they want what is best for you, but they're not in your shoes, and they're not licensed real estate agents. Consider these three things when you buy a home:

Why are you even buying a home? Is it for financial reasons or do you want your own space?
Where are home values headed? You want to make sure your home is going to appreciate in value. A home is a major investment into your future. In 2016, homes are expected to appreciate by 4%.
Where are mortgage rates headed? It looks as if they're rising, so I suggest you buy a home as soon as possible.
