The Young and the Restless sees Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) finds herself in hot water when Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) goes missing and her car is discovered in the river. Phyllis is accused of foul play, but she insists on her innocence. Meanwhile, Phyllis is also dealing with a revenge plot against Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) with the help of Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson). She hopes to secure a role at Chancellor Industries for her son, Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei), once they regain control on the CBS soap opera.

Young and Restless sees things take a turn when Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) arrives with news of Sharon's disappearance. In a shocking twist, it's revealed that Sharon's disappearance is part of Ian Ward's (Ray Wise) scheme, with Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk) playing a crucial role. Phyllis finds herself in the crosshairs of Jordan, who is seemingly planning to frame her for Sharon's presumed death.
