The utility for blockchain has increased far beyond the scope of cryptocurrency; its applications are limitless, with one popping up every day. However, this exponential growth has not solved one common, but often looked-over problem with blockchain. Blockchain services like dApps and smart contracts continue to function without a decentralized communication medium for their users. The only platforms available for sellers and buyers to communicate through are the very centralized channels of email, text or social media. What does it say about a notable decentralized network with no similar communication platform? Can it really be called decentralized then? But worry not! This when EPNS comes into play. The Ethereum Push Notification Service (or EPNS), founded by Harsh Rajat and Richa Joshi, was introduced to the world in October 2020. It provides itself as a decentralized platform for providers to communicate with its users. EPNS offers a safe space for its clients to seek the various blockchain services in a decentralized manner that also incentivizes the entire process. But how does this protocol work, how was this project conceived, what is the need for this service?
