"In The Father’s House" (Luke 2:41-52), June 23, 2024
Manage episode 425563922 series 3497757
We continue to walk through our series in Luke. The passage in Luke 2:41-52 is a key passage in the Bible, recounting the story of young Jesus at the Temple. In this narrative, Jesus, at twelve years old, travels with His parents, Mary and Joseph, to Jerusalem for the Feast of Passover. After the festival, Jesus stays behind in the Temple without His parents' knowledge.
When Mary and Joseph realize He is missing, they return to Jerusalem and find Him three days later, sitting among the teachers, listening and asking questions. His wisdom amazes everyone present. When His worried mother questions Him, Jesus responds that He must be in His Father's house. The phrase that is important to us is this one: "I must be in my Father's House." What was it about being in the Father's House that was so important to 12-year-old Jesus?
Join us as we explore the meaning of this phrase, and the importance of this passage - how it's relevant to us today.
We meet weekly at the City Centre Community Centre in Richmond, British Columbia. We gather for worship on the 3F! Everyone is welcome to come!
