Ben van Berkel van UNStudio is een van de beroemdste architecten van Nederland en staat ook internationaal in hoog aanzien. Hij studeerde architectuur aan de Rietveld Academie en aan de Architectural Asssociation in Londen en richtte in 1988 samen met Caroline Bos UNStudio op. Het bureau werd in Nederland vooral bekend door de Erasmusbrug in Rotterdam en het station van Arnhem. Op dit moment is UNStudio in Nederland o.a. druk met het iconische hoofdkantoor van Booking.com, op de kop van het Oosterdokseiland in Amsterdam. Met zijn bureau bouwde hij ook al opvallende landmarks in steden als London, Dubai, Hong Kong en Singapore.
