Welcome back to Courtroom Confidential with Joshua Ritter! In this special holiday News Brief episode, I give a quick rundown of the week’s biggest true crime news, including:

- Blake Lively has accused her “It Ends With Us” director and co-star Justin Baldoni of sexual harassment on the set of the movie and a subsequent effort to “destroy” her reputation in a newly filed legal complaint.

- Luigi Mangione, the man accused of fatally shooting Brian Thompson, the CEO of United Healthcare pleaded not guilty on Monday to state murder and terror charges while his attorney complained that comments coming from New York’s mayor would make it tough to receive a fair trial.

- The effort to prosecute Alec Baldwin for the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in 2021 ended on Monday when the special prosecutor withdrew her appeal of the judge’s decision to dismiss the involuntary manslaughter charge during the actor’s trial.

Plus, the latest in the Alexander brothers sex trafficking case, a new sentencing date for two defendants in the Pike County massacre case, and a judge’s refusal to allow Ethan Crumbley, a Michigan school shooter, to withdraw his guilty plea.
