This is a new series of episodes recorded with Martin Junna of Improv Comedy troupe, Ruutu10 and we talk about the similarities and differences between Ruutu10 and Comedy Estonia. In each episode we are trying to pick a topic and break down how we each do it.

Episode 99!

Now that open mics are happening again we have a timely episode. Martin and I talk about how to choose a venue for your comedy performance. Why one cafe but not another cafe? Bars? What about theater shows?

Theater shows are the upper level (and ticket sales = income to live from) but some form of regular, low pressure event needs to happen to make it easy for people to attend. In Comedy Estonia, that's basically what our Open Mic shows do: they provide an easy way for audience to experience Stand Up with a low commitment. We also get a place to try our material so it can be polished and by the time you see that joke at a theater, it's good and solid and worth your ticket fee.
