Label: RCA 10441
Year: 1975
Condition: M-
Price: $13.00
This is one of Bowie's absolutely essential singles, and you'll find that it's a specially edited version about half a minute shorter than the 4:00 album cut. (Remember that it was the (edited) 45 version that became the hit that you remember from the radio!) Chart Nerd Alert: In the 1970s, Bowie released some of the very best music of his career, but he only had two Top 10 U.S. hit singles -- "Fame" (a chart-topper from earlier in 1975) and "Golden Years" (which peaked at #10). His career would take off even more strongly after 1983's hit album "Let's Dance," and he had four Top 10 U.S. hits in the 1980s (oh, all right: "Let's Dance," "China Girl," "Blue Jean," and "Dancing in the Street" (w/Mick Jagger). Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage RCA Records factory sleeve. The labels are Mint with a small date penciled on the A side. The vinyl looks untouched, and the audio is pristine Mint.
