Pallavi and Ellory go through the major news with some games, then get into the fun stuff. First and foremost: the woman who stole Nancy Pelosi’s laptop appealing the terms of her house arrest so that she can attend a Ren Faire. Also on the docket this week are labor relations: Starbucks vs. the National Labor Board, the Kaiser mental health workers’ strike, and potentially the first unionized strip club in America right here in LA! They tackle the viral term “quiet quitting” and how banned book lists at one Texas school have broadened to include books like Anne Frank’s Diary and the Bible. Ellory wishes death to all airlines up top, but nothing new there. At the end of the episode, they each start a rumor that you are expected to repeat to a minimum of 4 people.

Mutual Aid Babe of the Week: My Friend’s Place, homelessness org for LGBTQ in Hollywood.

Resources mentioned:

  • Blackfish Documentary (on Netflix)
  • Nancy Reagan by Kitty Kelly
  • Imperfect Paradise: The Forgotten Revolutionary (Podcast about Chicano activist Oscar Gomez)
  • Crip Camp (documentary about the fight for disabled people’s rights featuring support from the Black Panthers)
  • A Tradition of Violence: The History of Deputy Gangs in the LA County Sheriff’s Department by Cerise Castle of Knock-LA
  • Unprecedented (documentary by Alex Holder filming the final days of Trump and his family in the White House during Trump’s 2020 loss to Biden; the doc was subpoenaed by the January 6th committee)
