This week on Christories, we're talking about the THE BILL OF RIGHTS! The Bill of Rights, the first ten amendments to the United States Constitution, was ratified on December 15, 1791. It was created to protect individual liberties and limit government power. Key figures like James Madison played a crucial role in drafting these amendments, addressing the concerns of Anti-Federalists who feared a too-powerful central government. The Bill of Rights guarantees fundamental rights such as freedom of speech, religion, and the press, the right to bear arms, protection against unreasonable searches and seizures, and rights to fair trials, among others.
