What does Jerry know about happiness that we don’t? The day after his high school prom, Jerry woke up with swollen ankles the size of baseballs. Thinking that his ankles were sprained, Jerry went to the hospital to get treatment. Instead, what he learned that day would change his life forever. At the age of 17, Jerry was diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome. Both his kidneys were diseased. There is no cure for Nephrotic Syndrome. For the next four years, Jerry would go through an incredibly battle for survival, going through 11 months of dialysis while waiting for a kidney donor. He almost took his own life. He almost died when he flat lined in the hospital. He had moments where he wanted to give up. Yet he continued to push forward. His courage, his family and friends, and an unexpected stranger would bring to life a miracle we'll never forget.
