There's a song by a 70's group The O'Jay's called "For The Love of Money"...its' a popular song that's in countless of ads and movies and it talks all about MONEY of course - but if one were to actually read the lyrics (hint: click on the link to read the lyrics :) to that song - oh my geez - it's cringe-worthy, especially in this day and age! I mean talk about having a negative view about money! There's another famous song by (yet another) 70's group, ABBA aptly titled "Money Money Money" it's found on the soundtrack of the famous musical, Mama Mia (btw...what the heck 70's?!? why all the negative vibes about money?!?) and it's even worse than the first song! Seriously...one of the lines of the ABBA song actually says..."in my dreams I have plan, if I got me a wealthy man, I wouldn't have to work at all, I'd fool around and have a ball...money money money, must be funny in rich man's world...." *gulp!

Why am I talking about these famous 70's songs that several generations have listened to and possibly imprinted into their subconscious?

Because how we view, think and talk about money is crucial to how easily or difficult money comes into our lives. In the first song (and I didn't even know this until I actually read the lyrics - although hummed along to this song for ages)...they actually say "I know that money is the root of all evil..." wow imagine an impressionable little kid already walking around at that time not having the best views about money and then listening to a song that affirms what they believe to be true? Well, we don't need song lyrics for us to manifest some pretty terrible things about money these days - we need only look to the things we learned as kids from our parents, family and close friends.

In this episode, I explain what money blocks and money stories really mean and how you can begin to identify them in your own life. I talk about the top 3 money blocks that I've come across from my clients (and from myself) and I give you steps in how to rewrite your own money story to allow for a more positive flow of money into your life and business. I also explain how to use money as a tool instead of putting it on a pedestal and giving up all of your power and control to an innate object.

This episode isn't to convince you that we don't need money or that it's not important in the world that we live in now...because the truth is that money is in everything we want and in everything we do. It is important because it allows us the ability to fund our adventures, donate to the causes we believe in, provide for our family and help our clients. That said we need to have a better understanding of our personal relationship with money and this starts by figuring out what stories we tell ourselves about it.

For some (dat be me!), conversations about money is still a tough subject! My own skewed beliefs about money ran incredibly deep, changing my perception about money is a work in progress. But it's been a necessary and cathartic journey that's turned my world around! I hope this episode helps you sort through your own stories and take action towards clearing out your old beliefs. In turn, switching out your old limiting thoughts for new ones, that will soon manifest into more abundance in your life + business! xx - Cat
