In what will come as no shock to anyone living above ground, our President, Donald Trump was officially impeached this last week by the House of Representatives. This marks the 2nd time in his first term and also marks the only time a President has been impeached more than once. To date, the House has voted on impeachment four times and Trump, the 45th President of the United States, is responsible for half of them (Richard Nixon, technically, resigned before the House impeached him). In another move that should surprise exactly no one, this podcast is dedicated to that extraordinary feat. Topics of discussion include the potential ramifications of the impeachment, our thoughts on if the Senate will convict, what this means for the Democratic and Republican parties and politics in general. We also speak to the power-hungry nature of political “gamers,” which are politicians who have sought out ways to abuse and defeat the system using no democratic methods, as well as the potential power vacuum that would be left by the Republican party if it disintegrates and how that might shape the Democratic party, for the worse, in years to come.
