I published a book called Capitalism Killed the Middle Class: 25 Ways the System is Rigged Against You about my 37 years at AT&T. It also has some history and covers issues like the gig economy, universal basic income, the green new deal, Black Lives Matter, our criminal injustice system and more.
Dan also has written a novel that is sparse and raw. It is the story of Charlie Wise, asshole. He has cheated on his wife for years, forsaken his friends, and left behind a trail of broken hearts and broken people. When he discovers he has Parkinson's Disease, convinced he's dying, he tries to make amends and, in the process, write the Great American Novel. His quest for salvation takes him to a Catholic church in Thailand and a Muslim funeral in Morocco looking for answers. He leaves behind the old Charlie and comes home to finish his transformation on his Texas apology tour. The novel is full of humor and tomfoolery with a gentle jab at religion, (all of them) and a cathartic experience as the author tries to cope with his own diagnosis of PD. The book is called You Will Forever Be My Always.
