This tour of Fells Point Historic Trail is created by The Baltimore National Heritage Area (BNHA), which promotes, preserves, and enhances Baltimore's historic and cultural legacy and natural resources for current and future generations. A walking tour of this and other destinations is available at www.explorebaltimore.org/tours. Located at 931 Fell Street Transcript: This fine brick home on your left is one of Baltimore's shining pieces of federal architecture and has been photographed for many national magazines. Built right after the Revolutionary War, the Hollingsworth Steel House has been meticulously preserved and still boasts six fireplaces and much of its original interior trim and fine carvings. The man who first lived in this house. Jesse Hollingsworth was a naval agent and helped run food and gunpowder to George Washington's troops during the Revolutionary War. He then sold the house to John Steele, a local shipbuilder. Later, in 1848, denim tycoon Levi Strauss bought the home and added a second house behind it, with another entrance on South Wolf Street.
