Der ägyptische Schrifsteller unterstützte den Friedensprozess zwischen Israel und Ägypten und wurde 1994 Opfer eines Messerattentates. Monika al Shurbaghi in conversation with Naguib Mafouz. Naguib Mahfouz (1911-2006) is the only Arabic-language winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature to date. The Egyptian writer supported the peace process between Israel and Egypt and was the victim of a knife attack in 1994. The conversation with Naguib Machfouz after the attack was conducted in Arabic and is a rare recording and a historical document of the time.
