Katie Thomas is the founder of ‘Art in Mayfair’ now in its fifth year. In conversation she takes us back to the beginning, discussing the how’s and why’s that bought together the convergent worlds of Mayfair’s leading fashion and jewellery brands. This paired with the areas independent galleries who joined the Royal Academy to celebrate the character of this unique neighbourhood.
Throughout the conversation Katie reminisces about standout memories – Gavin Turk and his egg, Gary Hume’s flags, pop up events, the craftsmanship and creativity of Saville Row, the Royal Academy’s summer exhibition and performance art / live shows that speak to the rich art heritage of Mayfair.
