World Menopause Day - bet you didn't think we'd ever be talking about this 10 years ago, hell some might not expect us to be talking about it today, but we need to and we will, like we always should have as it's a natural part of life.
Largely regarded as one of the last ‘taboo’ subjects in the wellbeing stable, Jeanette Kehoe-Perkinson (‘JKP’) has been an early champion of the subject since she went through her own experience that affected her career - it's part of the www.powerpause.co.nz story.
With Menopuase training now part of the GenderTick certification and Sophie the Countess of Wessex making her Menopuase pledge there is a lot of change picking up pace and with good reason.
20% of Women are severely affected, and Perimenopuase depression is a cause of high numbers of suicide in women aged 45 to 55. We really need to understand and accept this is happening to help women through it safely. Another problem is the early end of careers, also as a result of the effect of menopause.
Well hear all about it 3pm on hashtag#WorldMenopauseDay from Jeanette - tune in and be part of positive change.
