In this episode, Dr. Robert Whitehead, engages in a thought-provoking conversation about Christmas traditions, the distinction between sacred and secular elements, and the importance of inclusivity in the Nativity story. We discuss how both elements of sacred and secular can coexist and contribute to the holiday's meaning and acknowledge that the Nativity story includes challenging and uncomfortable aspects. Dr. Whitehead has been the Pastor of New Zion Baptist Church for over 30 years. Dr. Whitehead is an advocate for education and assists with working with individuals, groups and schools for a better community. He and his wife, Jocelyn, have been married over 40 years and have two grown sons.
