Documents uncovered through a Freedom of Information request have revealed that the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) declined to give the Department of Climate Change, Energy, Environment and Water (DCEEW) information about the cost of the carbon budgets imposed on the Integrated System Plan (ISP).

AEMO acknowledged the calculations had been done as part of the modelling undertaken for the ISP, but concluded AEMO “is not at liberty to share this information”.

Luke Grant chats with the Director of Energy at the Centre of Independent Studies, Aidan Morrison, to find out exactly what Chris Bowen’s department has been told about the cost of Renewable Energy in the Integrated Systems Report.
