Good News Church adheres to historical Christianity and agrees with ancient confessions such as the Apostle’s Creed. We believe that the Bible is primarily about the ”good news” that even though we are sinners, Jesus Christ came to live the perfect life that we could never live, and then die the death that we all deserve, so that by believing in his life, death, and resurrection we could be in a right relationship with God. That also explains why we chose the name.

When we started Good News Church, we had something very distinctive in mind. Our thinking was that Leesburg didn’t need another traditional church. There were plenty of great traditional churches in this area doing wonderful things. We felt that what was needed was a different kind of church. – A church that would reach a wider spectrum of people, especially the unchurched. – A church that is contemporary, relevant, open-armed and casual. – A church where no one is perfect, but everyone is s ...

Just as every part of the body has a unique function, we are given gifts to build up the church and reflect Christ’s love. Serving isn’t about status or recognition but about a heart willing to be used by God. This message will challeng…

Mark 9 and John 9 both reveal powerful truths about healing—one focused on faith and the other on divine purpose. In Mark 9, a desperate father cries out, “I believe; help my unbelief!” showing that even imperfect faith can invite God’s power. In John 9, Jesus heals a man born blind, teaching that some struggles exist not because of sin but to disp…

Hebrews 11:1-4 and Genesis 1 reveal the power of faith and spoken words in aligning with God’s will. Faith is the confidence in what we hope for, and from the beginning, God demonstrated this by speaking creation into existence. Likewise, our words should reflect faith, not fear—declaring God’s promises rather than dwelling on problems. This messag…
