Tanzeem Shaneela or "Tanz" is a social psychology Phd. student in the CUNY system. Tanz first made it onto my radar way back in 2012 when she wrote the piece, "The Illuminati and Why It Spoke to Me". I came across the article on the old Kasama website. It's a good piece and I think Tanz' story is one that is shared by many different people across the country. Tanz gives us insight into her own intellectual and political growth. She goes into detail about the affect of Illuminati theory on herself and those around her. She explains why it is ultimately insufficient in describing the ills of the world, and how this dead end led her to a greater understanding and critique of capitalism. So here it is, folks.
