Originally Published June 6, 2022: In this episode, Dr. Allen Lycka welcomes in Carrie Lynn Hotson, an experienced Human Resources leader and author of the book "Knowing Who You Lead” to talk about the importance of effective leadership in today's business world; particularly in understanding and engaging with employees to improve retention and organizational success.

Carrie shares insights from her extensive experience and highlights the need for leaders to adapt to changing workplace dynamics, including remote and hybrid settings. She emphasizes the value of curiosity, vulnerability, and seeking outside coaching to enhance leadership skills and drive organizational growth.

Guest Bio: Carrie-Lynn Hotson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Law and Psychology, Certified Human Resources Leader accreditation (CHRL) and is a graduate of Interest-Based Mediation training. She has 25 years of experience as a coach, facilitator, and leader, including seven years as a senior human resources manager with extensive experience addressing workplace issues and organizational challenges. Hotson’s expertise in interviewing, onboarding, and training informed her interview coaching business, jobinterviewcoach.ca. What Hotson gleaned from meeting candidates, learning about their skills and abilities, and gaining insight into why they are seeking to leave their current employment has been integrated into her book, Knowing Who You Lead. These key lessons will help current and future leaders empower, engage, and retain employees.
