In 2001, Powder Magazine called Dan one of the most influential skiers of our time
In 2006, Dan was inducted into the US Skiing & Snowboarding Hall of Fame
Dan was a founding member of the North Face Extreme Team with Scot Schmidt
Dan is the author of "30 Years in a White Haze" a book about ski bumming the world and skiing some of the most unique locations on Earth including the Berlin Wall, the Middle East, Yugoslavia, Romania, and more
