A Champion of Women's Rights with Former Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney
Manage episode 372449640 series 3339056
Former Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney was first elected to Congress in 1992 and served more than three decades representing the state of New York. She has an extensive list of accomplishments from 9/11 recovery and national security issues like gun control to infrastructure and healthcare. Of special note is her charge for women and minorities in which she has spent her entire career working to advance women’s rights. She joins podcast host Cindy Glanzrock in a powerful conversation about her role as a leading advocate and champion for legislation to recognize the ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA). She believes women will never gain equality, including equal pay for equal work, without the ERA in place to protect women's rights. It is simple, women have come a long way, but not long enough.
