Shira leads statewide strategy for LGBTQ+ public policy, organizing, and advocacy, and is a founder of Camp Indigo Point — the first local residential summer camp for trans, gender expansive, and LGBTQ+ youth. Shira speaks to the cultural shifts that allowed trans-hate to become popularized, how anti-trans legislation became a priority for conservative politicians, and the devastating impact on trans youth and their families.
