This week we go back in time with former Footscray and Richmond star Leon Cameron. Leon reminisces about his career, reflects on some of his favourite moments and people in the game.
Leon, a Western Victorian football export, was picked up by the Footscray Football Club with pick 7 in the 1988 National Draft. He spent ten seasons at the Whitten Oval, playing 172 games, which also included a Best and Fairest Award. He then moved to Richmond in 2000, spending 4 seasons at Tiger-land, playing a further 84 games.
In this episode, Leon talks about the day he was drafted, playing alongside some Footscray greats, being targeted by West Coast, the Prelim Final losses in 97 and 98, the famous Matthew Knights and Tony Libertore scuffle at the G and coaching in the AFL.
