We were so blessed to talk to Carlos Camacho, PhD (he/him) this week about his journey to becoming a Lucumí priest. Dr. Camacho is a scholar and a practitioner of the Afro-Cuban spiritual tradition called Lucumí. In this episode, we explore how he found Lucumí, his day-to-day practices, and the rich history of this spiritual tradition. Carlos also shares some of the fascinating findings of his academic research, which explores the intersection of gender and sexual identities and Lucumí.
