It usually takes an actor 4 to 5 years to scratch the surface and make a mark in Hollywood. Maya Stojan was told she had literally one year to make it as an actor, or get deported. As an immigrant without the proper credentials, she tells America's Podcaster, Kurt Caceres, how she kept losing jobs she was chosen for, because she didn't yet have the proper work papers. But she hustled, found creative and bold ways to get seen, crashed auditions, and was downright relentless. She is the perfect example of a child who was extremely shy and introverted, who used the craft of acting to break free from those constraints and find confidence in herself. As a recurring character on shows like CASTLE and AGENTS of SHIELD, she tells us that it's integral to love the audition process. It must be seen as a chance to perform, have fun, explore and create. Those who look at the audition process as a chore or a nuisance, most often will never find success in the business.
