Computer Instruments Thinks We Can Do Better If you ask nothing more than “How can I help you today?” you are off to a good start. The simplicity of that question should be the foundation for building the intelligence behind your AI Attendant. Listen to contact center conversations and concentrate on repetitive responses. An AI Attendant is an educated Voice Chat Bot, and it’s your challenge to make sure it has, at its disposal, everything it needs to answer the call. To do that correctly, below are five questions you should ask to discover and define the purpose of the AI Attendant. Detta Donoghue, Director of Strategic Alliances at Computer Instruments, tells us about a familiar bad auto attendant experience with a local utility company. Jeff Pulver is all about vCons at ITEXPO this week “vCons provide the memory,” says Jeff Pulver. According to Jeff’s upcoming publication on vCons, Virtualized Conversations are a transformative force in enterprise AI and communications. Jeff believes that much like how VoIP revolutionized voice communication, vCons redefine how conversations are captured, structured, and leveraged as digital assets. “Imagine dealing with different bots, and every time you’re there, it’s like 50 first dates. You forget that you were there five minutes ago. The vCon provides the memory layer that keeps track of what’s said, when, and where. If you’re in a business, an enterprise, you know, vCons can capture not just voice conversations but emails, messages, everything. You have a 360 on what’s going on in a relationship with a customer, with an employee, or even in your own company’s knowledge base. It’s expansive what this power is being unleashed. In the age of AI, vCon is essential, whether you’re an MSP, or any type of service provider, for that matter. If you’re an engineer. You’re building hardware. You’re telecom ecosystem. vCon should be on your product roadmap.” Jeff is at ITEXPO this week. He will be at the ‘Future of Work Strategy – State of the Market Review’ at 10 AM on Tuesday, with Jon Arnold . He will also be available at the Snom booth, during the EXPO. https://www.vonevolution.com/…

1 Reimagining Mobility in Business Communications: Is There a Single Right Approach? Frost & Sullivan Podcast 14:21
“The opportunity is to provide organizations with the most feature-rich, most reliable, most secure mobile communication solutions,” says Elka Popova, Frost & Sullivan Vice President for Connected Work. Elka will be presenting a talk: Reimagining Mobility in Business Communications: Is There a Single Right Approach? The presentation will be at the Cloud Connections 2025, April 14-16, 2025, in St. Petersburg, Florida. “The opportunity is to integrate existing mobile services and devices with the business communication solutions, with the business communications systems on premises or the business communication services delivered from the cloud, or let’s say the UCaaS solution, the cloud PBX. We’ve been aiming for this kind of integration for years, and the industry as a whole has come up with several approaches. But we haven’t been able to get to that fully mobile state in many of the countries.” Mobile communications have become an integral part of our personal and business lives. However, mobile capabilities are not always integrated with business telephony and UC systems, preventing organizations from maximizing mobility benefits. To capitalize on the opportunity to provide compelling integrated mobile UC solutions to businesses, technology vendors and service providers must acknowledge the key adoption drivers and restraints. It is also critical to align different mobile UC approaches with the right use cases – by geography, industry, and job function. This session will address the following key issues: Mobility trends in business communications Challenges to mobile UC adoption Advantages and disadvantages of different mobility approaches Identifying use cases: the low-hanging fruit versus the long-term potential Success factors for CSPs in mobile UC…

Breaking Free from Operational Bottlenecks, TELCLOUD POTS & Shots Podcast, When you go into the POTS line replacement space, you have to deliver the same functionality for these legacy equipment “The interesting thing about a POTS line is even if the building that the POTS line was in, whether commercial or residential if the power went out, the power was still delivered over the POTS line,” says Jake Jacoby of TELCLOUD . “The power comes from the central office of the telecommunication company. When you go into the POTS line replacement space, you have to deliver the same functionality for legacy equipment.” Breaking Free from Operational Bottlenecks This week, Doug and Jake discuss how relying on outdated POTS lines can hinder operational efficiency. Frequent failures and limited capabilities mean businesses spend more time troubleshooting than innovating. The older they get, the higher the cost—whether it’s POTS lines or fine liquor. Jake highlights how resellers can use modern solutions that eliminate these inefficiencies and future-proof operations. We look at What operational challenges do businesses typically face when sticking with aging POTS lines? How to improve operational efficiency for businesses. Communication with customers: What are the key message resellers can share with customers about the operational advantages of upgrading their POTS systems. The year of vCon, Creo Solutions unwraps solutions that cut across silos and platforms, monetize data, Podcast, Every time we hop on a meeting, we’ve got Microsoft, CodePilot will give us a readout, or when we call into a contact center, all of your CCaaS platforms today support recording conversations and using that for coaching “Every time we hop on a meeting, we’ve got Microsoft, CodePilot will give us a readout, or when we call into a contact center, all of your CCaaS platforms today support recording conversations and using that for coaching,” says Creo Solutions Partner and Co-Founder Robert Galop. “The challenge in the industry has really been all of these are siloed solutions. So if I want to get a picture of what’s really happening with my business, what the customer journey looks like all the way from marketing to sales to onboarding and what have you, I’ve got all of these different systems that I’ve got to look across. And none of them are consistent in the information that they give me.” “So what we’re really excited about is with vCons.” In this podcast, we take a look at the excitement. “Now we can capture conversations in the entire customer journey, everything that the employee is doing to support the customer, and we can capture those in a consistent way across platforms. And we’re looking at very simple licensing models, very simple deployment model. So let me show you show what this what this product is. “I think it’s an opportunity for telecom expense managers to take that into the enterprise market with the lessons learned and bring that same kind of reliability that we bring to the aviation industry and the sort of user-friendliness that we’ve created for our consumer users,” says Sam King, chief revenue officer for GigSky . Sam thinks this a place where people watching IT and telecom spend, can shine but cutting costs, painlessly. Over the past five years as smartphone manufacturers have integrated embedded SIM cards (eSIM) into their phones, a growing number of fintech firms and credit card companies have begun to embrace the technology to create additional revenue streams and drive customer loyalty. As a result, financial firms are beginning to eat into the market share of traditional telecom companies as customers increasingly look for ways to avoid expensive roaming fees when they travel overseas. For example, Zolve , an Indian neobank, recently began offering eSIM plans tailored for Indian expats pursuing educational or professional opportunities in the United States. The new service means American telecoms are losing important market growth to foreign fintech firms. VISA has also gotten into the game. The credit card company recently partnered with GigSky to begin offering cardholders complementary and/or discounted eSIMs as part of its core travel benefits in Latin America and Canada, and will soon be rolling out a similar offer in the United States. “We’re a mobile network operator like AT&T, Verizon, Bell TELUS, Vodafone, except that we’re data only, and we specialize in providing mobile connectivity around the world we all operate a geo-redundant network, and we provide data in Europe, North America, South America Asia, Australia New Zealand you know pretty much everywhere, says Sam. The mobile technology company that provides eSIM data plans is about why credit card companies and fintech firms are offering eSIMs to their consumers. “We provide data, to oil and gas workers in the North Sea and in the Gulf of Mexico, as well as to passengers and crew on over 200 of the world’s largest cruise ships around the world. You can deal directly with an enterprise end user. If I’m a cruise ship company or a bank or I have some sort of organization where we have people traveling or all sorts of different circumstances, I can talk to you, and you can work with us.…

What is your opt-out policy? You know, some of these small businesses are cities and counties that don’t have it. We can give you a copy of an opt-out policy. Who are you texting? We understand customer desires, et cetera. And we want to make products that we want to make meaningful software for our customers that benefit them.” In early 2024, Microsoft uncoupled MS Teams from the suite of apps included in O365. This means if customers want to add Teams, they must purchase it separately. Then, if they wish to add Unified communications, they must obtain Phone System licensing or Operator connect from Microsoft, which can get expensive when looking at per-user pricing. Clearspan offers its own purpose-built UC soft client PING. This provides enhanced collaboration functionality above and beyond Teams as the full PING UC suite of features is all fully integrated with our UC Solution Clearspan Cloud. New CCA Member Autom8ly is working with CCA to build a SalesGenii that matches visitors with ideal service providers, driving qualified leads and enhancing customer engagement “Telephony and communications in general is, of course, the primary mode of delivery for these services, and yet the CCA was without a member that kind of specializes in this area,” says Mark Vange of Autom8ly. Autom8ly provides AI-driven business automation Geniis for their clients while ensuring safety and compliance for even the most complex use cases. “We're hoping to be able to bring some knowledge and some know-how to the CCA membership, and we're very much looking forward to meeting folks over the coming months and years and collaborating on some solutions for their customers.” Autom8ly’s PhoneGenii platform is revolutionizing call centers through real-time AI voice agents for collections and customer service. The Autom8ly SalesGenii is an intelligent web assistant that converts visitors into leads and reduces the cost of customer service. The new CCA member also has Geniis that can engage with video, provide multilingual service, and monitor workflows for compliance. In this podcast we learn that Autom8ly is working with CCA to build a SalesGenii that matches visitors with ideal service providers, driving qualified leads and enhancing customer engagement. “We believe it is very important to make sure that we have a mechanism in place always to monitor and improve the AI agent quality so that our level of confidence can increase over time. And then the amount of trust or the amount of independence that we can give these AI agents is then commensurate with the level of trust that we have gained in those agents, and that's something that we can measure and demonstrate rather than hoping for the best.” Visit www.Autom8ly.com…

“We really sort of sit at an interesting intersection of CPaaS providers like Twilio, SignalWire, and Plivo, where you get a platform,” says Tim McCain, Commio’s Director of Marketing. Commio has announced that it has joined other cloud communications industry leaders as a member of the Cloud Communications Alliance (CCA) based in Delray Beach, Florida. The CCA is the world’s premier peer association dedicated to the advancement of the cloud communications industry. In this podcast we learn more about the Commio story. “There is a communications layer for the voice and messaging that connects you to the carriers, but it's kind of an afterthought. There's not a lot of redundancy there. People have trouble with that. We bring your own carrier solution for Twilio, SignalWire, Plivo, and all those great things to get better connectivity. And then there's also, at the very bottom, people who will sell you desk phones and VoIP service, but we also provide cloud voice services. We're sort of that powerful value-added carrier layer for voice and text messaging. We have a lot of folks that are sending and registering 10 DLC campaigns, long code, short code, all those great things, 10 DLC. But then we're very well known for our voice products. People who need to send a lot of calls with a lot of calls per second with high quality and taking over total control of both the voice and messaging piece, to make sure that things are running, that there's good transparency, good redundancy. People love us for that.” The CCA works to move the industry forward by supporting and advising service providers on the best ways to build, sell, and scale their cloud communications solutions and businesses. Just a few of the CCA’s initiatives include providing research, education, and networking opportunities; representing the interests of its members in influencing policy; and building consistency across the globe. Read the membership announcement https://telecomreseller.com/2025/01/29/commio-joins-the-cloud-communications-alliance/ About Commio Commio is a cloud voice and text messaging API platform that enables VoIP providers to deliver rich omnichannel customer conversations at scale.
