When a young Eva Kollisch arrives as a refugee in New York in 1940, she finds a community among socialists who share her values and idealism. She soon discovers ‘the cause’ isn’t as idyllic as it seems. Little does she know this is the beginning of a lifelong commitment to activism and her determination to create radical change in ways that include belonging, love and one's full self. In addition to Eva Kollisch’s memoirs Girl in Movement (2000) and The Ground Under My Feet (2014), LBI’s collections include an oral history interview with Eva conducted in 2014 and the papers of Eva’s mother, poet Margarete Kolllisch, which document Eva’s childhood experience on the Kindertransport. Join me as I dive deep into the theme of "waiting" and how God has been impressing upon me the importance of patience and divine timing. Recently, God has been dealing with me about waiting, especially in a world where everything seems to be instant and fast-paced. We often expect God to act just as quickly, but His timing is different and perfect. This lesson of waiting has been profound, teaching me that sometimes we move ahead of God, missing out on crucial steps He has planned for us. We explore scriptures like Habakkuk 2:3 and Psalm 27:14, emphasizing the importance of waiting on God's appointed time. Waiting isn't just about being still; it's about preparing and growing in the process. If this episode blessed you, please share it with someone who may be struggling with waiting. Her narrative clearly explains the expansions of God's love, pushing the boundaries of societal beliefs regarding divine affection versus human companionship. In this episode, Ralinda also throws light on the Christian concept of marriage, perceiving it more as an expression of divine love than merely a commitment between two individuals.
